Project Description:

The Halton Multicultural Council is a community agency dedicated to enabling every individual, regardless of race or ethnic origin, to participate as full and active members of the community through fostering mutual respect and understanding of one another.

The Halton Multicultural Council (HMC) required the development of a new website. The old site was a tired design and the content was out of date. The old system required specialized knowledge and was not easy to update. As a result, the site no longer reflected the most current information.

As part of the redesign, the client wanted the implementation of a content management system (CMS), so they could easily maintain the site themselves on an on-going basis. Our approach included web design, and a full featuredCMS. TheCMSenablesHMCto easily maintain the site themselves.  TheCMSincludes automatic features to ensure an accessible site. This was an important consideration as the site must be available to all users regardless of physical and visual ability.

Implementation included implementing new content, integrating a banner management system, and installation of a multilingual component. The multilingual component allowsHMCto easily provide content in a variety of languages. This is especially important forHMCas they provide services to a diverse target market. The multilingual component combined with theCMSensuresHMChas the tools to easily maintain the site themselves and keep it up to date. 

Training was provided during the project and the client has been happily maintaining the site since launch.

The client was so pleased with the results of the project, they referred an associate and they had a site completed as well.
